WHAT WILL YOU DO

  1. Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout, dimensions, and materials required for piping systems;

  2. Select appropriate piping materials, such as steel, copper, PVC, or plastic, based on project requirements and environmental factors;

  3. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, ensuring accurate dimensions and tight fits;

  4. Fabricate pipe hangers, supports, and other components to secure piping systems in place, following industry standards and best practices;

  5. Assemble and install piping systems, including pipes, fittings, valves, and controls, according to layout plans and installation diagrams;

  6. Test piping systems for leaks and pressure, using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing equipment, and other testing devices;

  7. Perform maintenance and repair tasks on existing piping systems, including replacing worn or damaged components, sealing leaks, and adjusting fittings;

  8. Follow safety regulations and guidelines on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols;

  9. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of materials used, labor hours, and project progress.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Previous experience as a pipefitter or a related field required, with at least 3 years of experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in pipefitting techniques, including pipe cutting, threading, bending, and welding.

  • Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and controls used in construction projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Assist in the installation of trim, molding, and other decorative elements to enhance the appearance of interior spaces;
Aid in the preparation and installation of cabinetry, shelving, and other built-in fixtures according to project specifications and design plans;
Support the hanging of doors, windows, and hardware, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality;
Assist with wood staining, painting, and finishing techniques to protect and enhance the natural beauty of wood surfaces;
Help with the installation and finishing of flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, tile, and vinyl, with attention to detail and craftsmanship;
Assist in the construction and installation of custom furniture pieces, such as bookcases, benches, and entertainment centers, under the guidance of experienced carpenters;
Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, and painters, to coordinate work activities and ensure seamless project execution;
Learn to use hand and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns, safely and effectively to perform carpentry tasks;
Follow safety regulations and guidelines on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols.

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Previous experience in construction or related field preferred, with exposure to finishing carpentry considered a plus;
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills;
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude;
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods;
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
