WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Conduct inspections on electrical and non-electrical equipment in hazardous (Ex) areas.
- Verify compliance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, ATEX 153, and IEC 60079 standards.
- Interpret and validate Ex certification, zoning, and protection concepts (Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, Ex n, Ex t, etc.).
- Produce detailed inspection reports and non-conformance findings.
- Support clients with technical advice and remediation actions.
- Liaise with site engineers, safety managers, and project leaders.
- Ensure that all inspections align with client, national, and international safety standards.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in hazardous areas (oil & gas, chemical, pharma, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of hazardous area classification (Zones 0, 1, 2 / 20, 21, 22).
- Experience working with IEC 60079-14 / -17 / -19 is highly valued.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, ATEX markings, and zone plans.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- Fluent in English or Dutch
- Valid VCA (Safety for Contractors) or equivalent safety certification.
