Install cable tray systems, including ladder trays, trough trays, and wire mesh trays, according to project specifications, engineering drawings, and safety standards;
Measure and cut cable trays to required lengths using power tools, ensuring accuracy and precision in tray dimensions and alignment;
Assemble and connect cable tray sections, fittings, and accessories, such as corners, bends, couplers, and supports, using appropriate fasteners and hardware;
Mount cable trays to walls, ceilings, and other structural elements using brackets, hangers, and supports, ensuring proper alignment and spacing between trays;
Route electrical cables and wires through cable trays, securing cables with cable ties, clamps, and straps to prevent sagging, chafing, or damage during operation;
Inspect cable tray installations for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, performing visual inspections and conducting functional tests as needed;
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cable tray installations, such as clearance violations, interferences, and conflicts with other building components or systems;
Coordinate with other tradespeople, such as electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbers, to integrate cable tray systems with other building infrastructure and services.
Proven experience as a cable tray worker, cable installer, or similar role in the construction or electrical industry;
Strong knowledge of cable tray systems, components, and installation techniques, including familiarity with industry standards and best practices;
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for cutting, drilling, and assembling cable trays, as well as operating lifting equipment for handling heavy trays and materials;
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and installation manuals to understand cable tray layouts, dimensions, and assembly instructions;
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and installing cable trays in various positions and locations;
Attention to detail and precision in cable tray installation, with the ability to maintain high quality standards and meet project deadlines;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders;
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, work schedules, and project requirements in a fast-paced construction environment;
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
