WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Perform comprehensive testing and inspection of electrical and instrumentation systems, components, and equipment using specialized testing instruments, meters, and diagnostic tools;

  • Conduct functional tests, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and voltage measurements to verify the integrity and performance of electrical circuits, conductors, and connections;

  • Inspect instrumentation devices, sensors, transmitters, and control systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with calibration standards and performance specifications;

  • Calibrate instrumentation devices and control systems using precision calibration equipment and software to maintain accuracy and reliability in process control and monitoring;

  • Record test results, inspection findings, and calibration data accurately and systematically, documenting all observations and deviations in accordance with testing procedures and quality assurance requirements;

  • Analyze test data and inspection reports to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and collaborate with engineering teams and technicians to develop corrective actions and solutions;

  • Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues, diagnose root causes of failures or malfunctions, and implement corrective measures to resolve problems and restore functionality;

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to schedule testing activities, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures;

  • Maintain testing equipment and instrumentation tools in proper working condition, performing regular maintenance, calibrations, and repairs as needed to ensure accuracy and reliability.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Proven experience as an E&I tester, electrical tester, instrumentation technician, or similar role in an industrial environment;

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation testing techniques, procedures, and equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and calibration tools;

  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards applicable to testing and inspection activities, such as ANSI/IEEE, NETA, and ISA standards;

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), technical manuals, and equipment specifications;

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and instrumentation issues and develop effective solutions;

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple testing tasks, documenting results, and maintaining accurate records;

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders to achieve testing objectives.
