WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards;

  • Perform electrical inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine the most effective repair or maintenance solutions;

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to understand system components, connections, and operation;

  • Install, configure, and calibrate electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and control systems, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency;

  • Test electrical circuits and components using diagnostic tools, meters, and testing equipment to verify proper functioning and adherence to specifications;

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical installations, upgrades, and modifications as needed;

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and equipment histories, to track maintenance activities and ensure compliance with maintenance requirements;

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and electrical safety practices, to prevent accidents and injuries;

  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and service calls to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical systems and equipment;

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to electrical systems and equipment to maintain proficiency and competence in the field.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Proven experience as an electrical mechanic, electrician, or similar role in the electrical industry;

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment, including wiring, motors, generators, transformers, and control systems;

  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations;

  • Proficiency in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing instruments for installation, troubleshooting, and repair tasks;

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to understand system configurations and specifications;

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex electrical issues and develop effective solutions;

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and clients to achieve common goals.
