WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Install electrical systems and components in accordance with project specifications, blueprints, and electrical codes. This includes wiring, conduit installation, lighting fixtures, switches, and outlets;

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, and implement effective repairs and solutions to minimize downtime;

  • Conduct electrical testing and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. This includes insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and voltage measurements;

  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including installation logs, maintenance reports, and inspection records. Document all modifications and deviations from project specifications;

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety practices. Ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues;

  • Coordinate with other tradespeople, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other building components. Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project objectives;

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to electrical systems and civil engineering practices. Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to support project requirements.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Proven experience as an electrical mechanic, electrician, or similar role within the civil engineering or construction industry;

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring techniques. Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations;

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently;

  • Meticulous attention to detail in electrical installations, maintenance, and documentation;

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders;

  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site;

  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Flexibility to work in various environmental conditions.
