WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems onboard naval vessels;

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and failures to determine the root cause and implement appropriate repairs;

  • Conduct repair and overhaul activities on propulsion systems, power generation equipment, navigation systems, and other critical shipboard systems;

  • Install, test, and calibrate new equipment and systems according to technical specifications and naval regulations;

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and spare parts inventory;

  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment during maintenance and repair operations;

  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and naval personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and support mission requirements;

  • Stay informed about new technologies, equipment upgrades, and industry best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations;

  • Participate in training exercises and drills to maintain readiness and proficiency in emergency response procedures;

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Previous experience as a naval technician or similar role in the maritime industry;

  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems used in naval vessels, including propulsion systems, power distribution systems, communication systems, and navigation equipment;

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues;

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment;

  • Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols for working in confined spaces, at heights, and in potentially hazardous environments;

  • Willingness to undergo security clearance and comply with all security requirements for access to naval facilities and classified information;

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines and mission requirements;

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform duties that may involve lifting, climbing, and working in adverse weather conditions.
