WHAT WILL YOU DO

  1. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements, including materials, dimensions, and welding processes;

  2. Select appropriate welding equipment and materials, such as welding machines, electrodes, and shielding gases, based on project requirements and metal types;

  3. Set up and prepare welding equipment for operation, including cleaning, grinding, and preheating metal surfaces as needed;

  4. Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored arc welding, to join metal parts together according to project specifications;

  5. Monitor welding processes to ensure proper penetration, fusion, and deposition of weld metal, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired results;

  6. Inspect welded joints for defects, imperfections, and quality issues, using visual inspection methods and non-destructive testing techniques;

    Perform post-welding tasks, such as grinding, sanding, and polishing, to smooth weld seams and improve surface finish;

  7. Conduct repairs and modifications on existing metal structures and components, including cutting out damaged sections and welding in replacement parts;

  8. Follow safety regulations and guidelines in the operation of welding equipment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

  • Previous experience as a welder or a related field required, with at least 3 years of experience preferred;

  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored arc welding;

  • Knowledge of welding equipment, materials, and processes used in construction projects;

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications;

  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations;

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working in various positions;

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds with minimal defects;

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors;

  • Valid welding certification or willingness to obtain certification.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Assist in the installation of trim, molding, and other decorative elements to enhance the appearance of interior spaces;
Aid in the preparation and installation of cabinetry, shelving, and other built-in fixtures according to project specifications and design plans;
Support the hanging of doors, windows, and hardware, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality;
Assist with wood staining, painting, and finishing techniques to protect and enhance the natural beauty of wood surfaces;
Help with the installation and finishing of flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, tile, and vinyl, with attention to detail and craftsmanship;
Assist in the construction and installation of custom furniture pieces, such as bookcases, benches, and entertainment centers, under the guidance of experienced carpenters;
Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, and painters, to coordinate work activities and ensure seamless project execution;
Learn to use hand and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns, safely and effectively to perform carpentry tasks;
Follow safety regulations and guidelines on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols.

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Previous experience in construction or related field preferred, with exposure to finishing carpentry considered a plus;
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills;
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude;
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods;
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
